We can't use hire cars, we have to go to specialist Action Vehicle companies, and obviously knew we'd have to pay for the repairs to the bodywork.

I was wondering how Boyce and Mac managed to get the car into the office. Though I have learnt early in the series not to wonder too much about how some things manage to happen. :)
Did Mark Heap's arm really get set on fire?! Jay-sus. It was brilliant though.
i loved alan's attention to detail in his 'car in office' scene. the setting up of the hazard triangle was genius :D
Just out of interest, I know Series 2 has been filmed in "created" set...what about Series1? Was that all set or were there shots in a real hospital? If so, which bits and was it hard?

i'm looking for a jpeg/print or the 'Martin' painting in last friday's episode (21/04/06), not just for the obvious comedic aspects of the artwork(!) but the pose was just hysterical - it reduced me to tears even on the repeat!

Series 2 was eactly the same as Series 1, in that they were both a mixture of sets and real locations. The set was just slightly expanded for Series 2 (new corridor and bigger general area)
The trick is to try to spot which is which....
Does Naughty Rachel have a sign taped to her monitor that says "I'm single again"?

A couple of questions if I may:
The Statham burning arm sequence, was this a deliberate nod to a certain Fawlty Towers ep., or just a coincidence, do you know?
Alan inadvertantly setting fire to various items in his panic is rather similar to Manuel in the kitchen. No accusations of plagiarism here(!), it would be rather nice if it was intentional, I think.
Secondly, the Guyball match with the children. Some of Guy's language was rather, erm, choice (though no worse than a typical playground I suppose). I've heard of this being done with "dummy" innocent phrases (with closely matching lip movements) in front of young actors, with the real dialogue dubbed in later. Did you have to resort to this (in which case it was done extremely well), or can you get away with this sort of thing "in the raw" now?

In answer to w0bbly, I'm afraid I don't know what was in the writers mind when they wrote the fire sequence, and I'm afraid I wasn't on set when they shot Guyball with the kids.
in the scene in the chinese takeaway, where alan sings his abc song, there's a sign "No Pompou's Twat's" - just wanted to say i really appreciated the wrong apostrophes. nice touch there. :)
probably because i am someone who likes to sit around and tut at wrong apostrophes.
it's quite sad really.
