Sucks to be in the U.S.! Hope the convention is fun and not too star-trek-fanatic-like...
We got our DVD of the special yesterday and I finally got to watch it. Beautiful work, as was the rest of GW of course. One thing I like about GW is that you can really see the input of all the participants — design, editing, camera, direction etc as well as acting and writing. It just wouldn't be the same without any of you.
Hope you were the one who did prod. des. on the special, because it was beautifully done. I liked how each substory in the special had its own look and feel. Even the light and color seemed consistent across the substories, so when they cut between them it felt like intertwined ribbons. Coooool.

Couldn't have been further from what I've seen of those! There was no table behind which the guests sat and mechanically signed things, it wasn't a great, cold hall, it was a cozy pub where everyone could talk to everyone and mingle as they pleased. Can't be that many places where, after the first buzz, someone can be standing at the bar with a bunch of the best writers in telly history, (not to mention stellar acting talent!) and not even give them a glance!
Thanks for the mention, Jonathan, again - sorry you couldn't make it.
I agree Terri it was a bit sureal, the way everyone just got on with the day and left the talent (and this includes the writers) to relax and enjoy the time they were there
Anyone truly loving Doctor Martin Dear should check out Karl Theobald's new show Moonmonkeys. It's brilliant - but it can only be seen as a pilot at some stupid hour on BBC3 Friday 16th March at 25.00 hours or online at http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcthree/ It does for late night garages what Greenwing does for A&E. Checkiiiidout. Etc (You get to see his naked bum. Nice.)
